New Patient Safety Primer from AHRQ

Posted July 3, 2013.  Improving the culture of safety within health care is an essential component of preventing or reducing errors and improving overall health care quality.  Poor perceived safety culture has been linked to increased error rates, according to a patient safety primer available on AHRQ’s Patient Safety Network (PSNet). The primer identifies key features of organizations committed to a culture of safety. It also outlines specific measures and introduces a strategy to improve safety culture.
